AMLSN Lagos Congratulates GMLD Lagos on Successful Elections, Applauds Outgoing Leadership, and Reaffirms Commitment to Professional Unity
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Lagos State Branch led by, Comrade Kabiawu Gbolahan has congratulated the Lagos Branch of the Guild of Medical Laboratory Directors (GMLD) on the successful conduct of its 2026–2028 executive elections and swearing-in ceremony held on February 19 at the MLSCN South-West Zonal Office, Harvey Road, Yaba.
In a statement issued by Adeleke Olusegun Olaoluwa (Oluomo), State Publicity Secretary of AMLSN Lagos Branch commended the peaceful, transparent, and well-organised electoral process, describing it as “a reflection of maturity, professionalism, and a shared commitment to strengthening medical laboratory practice in Lagos State.”
AMLSN Lagos also extended heartfelt appreciation to the immediate past GMLD Lagos Chairman, Comrade Abimbola Julius Adekoya, for what the association described as “an overwhelmingly successful and impactful administration.”
Oluomo noted that Adekoya’s leadership “set a solid foundation of stability, collaboration, and progressive reforms that the Guild can continue to build upon.”

While congratulating the new team, AMLSN Lagos expressed confidence that the administration led by MLS Mark Doris Chinelo Callistus will “raise the bar even further, and consolidate on the gains achieved under the outgoing leadership.”
Oluomo reaffirmed that AMLSN Lagos as the parent body of all Medical Laboratory Scientists in the state remains fully committed to working closely with GMLD Lagos and all affiliate bodies for the collective advancement of the profession and improved healthcare delivery.
“A united and well-coordinated laboratory workforce is essential for diagnostic excellence and public health. AMLSN Lagos will continue to strengthen partnerships, encourage professionalism, and protect the interests of all Medical Laboratory Scientists across Lagos State,” the statement concluded.
