MRS OLUWAKEMI ADEJARE BECOMES THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ASSOCIATION OF THE FEMALE MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS OF NIGERIA (AFMLSN).
The election of the Association of the Female Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AFMLSN) Lagos State Branch has come and gone. The outcome of the election was that the baton of leadership has changed from the Mls Faith Anjou Itua led Executive to Mls Oluwakemi Yetunde Adejare led Executive.
MLS (Mrs). Adejare Oluwakemi Yetunde, (B.Sc., M.Sc., FMLSCN), is a Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the renowned University of Lagos and pursued her academic journey further with a Master’s degree in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to professional advancement, Mrs. Adejare earned her Associate, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN) and Fellow, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (FMLSCN) specialising in medical Microbiology and Parasitology from the School of Medical Laboratory Science, Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
Her dedication extends beyond her clinical and Laboratory practice as evidenced by her active engagement in various leadership roles.
She served as member of AFMLSN 2022 conference, Lagos State Civil service chapter AMLSN 2024 conference. She creditably served as the Secretary of the AFMLSN Lagos State Branch Caretaker Committee(2019 – 2021) and subsequently assumed the dual role of Secretary cum Treasurer of the 2024 AFBEC and a serving auditor of National Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUHAP, Lasuth branch); among other positions. Her leadership acumen and dedication led her to contest the chairmanship of AFMLSN Lagos Branch, where she was unanimously elected as the 3rd Chairman on April 30, 2024.
Mrs. Adejare’s professional pursuits are complemented by her passionate advocacy for public and women’s health, particularly in the realm of public health microbiology. Her research contributions have been published in reputable medical journals, reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in her field. Amidst her professional achievements, she finds fulfillment in her roles as a devoted church leader, wife, and mother.
