LEARN LOGISTICS KUEHNE FOUNDATION CELEBRATES DR OYENUGA OLAMILEKAN GBENGA BY ORGANIZING A THANK YOU CONVOKE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS.

Learn Logistics Kuehne Foundation (LL-KF)- a non governmental organization saddled with Capacity Building on Global Logistics Education Program for Economic Development in Nigeria gathered people from all walks of life to celebrate the academic journey and ground-breaking achievements of Dr. Olamilekan Gbenga Oyenuga, the first Ph.D. graduate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) sponsored by the organization.

The event was held at the MSA Relaxation Centre in the Faculty of Management Sciences at the University of  Lagos on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Olusoji Ilori -the Director of Academic Planning of the University of Lagos commended the efforts of the celebrant, his supervisors, members of his faculty and the Learn logistics program Coordinator in University of Lagos- Prof. Kola Oyedeji.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Ademola Sulaimon referred to the celebrant as the future of the faculty. He pleaded with him to stay in the faculty and contribute his quota to the academic development of the University. He expressed deep admiration for the scholar’s resilience and praised him for his hard work and relentless dedication to excellence.

The University of Lagos Coordinator of Learn Logistics -Kuehne Foundation- Prof Kola Oyedeji who facilitated the significant support given to Dr. Oyenuga during his academic journey, also spoke at the event. He opined that the foundation’s steadfast commitment to advancing postgraduate education in LSCM and providing essential support to students and scholars in the supply chain management sector cannot be over-emphasized.

Prof Oyedeji enumerated some of the achievements of the foundation as follows;

“From 2020, the foundation has sponsored annual train the trainers (TTT) programme in Logistics and Supply Chain management for not less than 10 faculty members annually

Fully sponsored three faculty members of the University of Lagos in Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Lagos State University.

Fully supported a Ph.D. candidate that we are celebrating today.

Ready to give full support for the establishment of the undergraduate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in the University of Lagos. This process have started and we hope with your support it will be successful.”

Professor Oyedeji seized this opportunity to show the Foundation’s appreciation to key individuals for their pivotal roles in  continued growth of the LL-KF initiative in the University of Lagos and decided to reward these great gestures by giving them awards. The awardees are, the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, the Director of Academic Planning, University of Lagos, the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Immediate past Dean , Faculty of Management Sciences and the Dr Oyenuga’s supervisor, the current Head, Department of Business Administration, Senior Project Manager, LL-KF and the former Postgraduate program Coordinator- Department of Business Administration, University of Lagos.

In his response, Dr. Oyenuga, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Oyenuga, expressed deep gratitude to the University and LL-KF for their unwavering support throughout his journey. He also extended his appreciation to his mentors, teachers, colleagues, family, and friends for their invaluable contributions along the way.

Several senior University officials were in attendance, including the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), Professor Abraham Osinubi. Also present were various members of the faculty and supervisor of the celebrant, Professor Emmanuel Oyatoye (a former Dean of the Faculty) and Dr. Glorious Adekoya who was the Master of Ceremony.
