GMLD LAGOS PAYS ADVOCACY VISIT TO FIRST BANK MANAGEMENT
The Executive members of the Association of Medical Laboratory Directors (GMLD) Lagos paid an advocacy visit to the head office of the First Bank in Marina Lagos on Wednesday 4th September 2024.
The visit was to strengthen the existing relationship between the GMLD and the management of the Bank.
In his speech, the Chairman of GMLD Lagos, Adekoya Abimbola Julius thanked First Bank for giving them special privileges anytime they called on them. He expressed the willingness of the Association to work with the bank and to explore new areas of mutual partnership and collaboration.
The meeting opened up various opportunities that are available for the members of our association. These include financing equipment leasing, working capital, mortgage, financing vehicle and generator purchase.
It was confirmed that over eighteen (18) members of the Association have benefited from the First Bank facilities so far.
According to the Head of the Department of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), Dr Abiodun Famuyiwa, “the door of the Bank is opened to your members to apply for the bank’s facilities without stress. The process is to be automated by the end of the month to the extent that loan can be processed from the comfort of your home. The head office will provide some numbers for quick intervention in any branch of first Bank in Nigeria if there is any bottleneck”
The loan for women was not yet available for the Medical professionals now. It is only for ladies who are into fashion, cosmetics and agriculture.
Dr Famuyiwa promised that the Association will be added to the Bank SME webinar in order to allow the members to benefit from the wealth of experience of some successful business managers.
The HOD agreed to work with his team to deliver the request of the Association for a co-branded card and the enlistment of GMLD on firstmobile to ease payment of the Association’s dues
He concluded his presentation with the promise to be part of the GMLD National Scientific Conference and AGM coming up in Lagos.
Those in attendance on the side of GMLD Lagos were the Vice Chairman, Mark Doris Calisto C, Secretary General, Dr Leo Aniakor and Assistant Secretary General, Ikechukwu valentine Unamba.
